Opened 1895 above the Hudson with four course architects, and no published wedding price, capacity or booking policy.
Ardsley Country Club opened in 1895 on a Hudson River bluff, backed by a group that included Jay Gould, Cornelius Vanderbilt and J. Pierpont Morgan. The golf course ran through Willie Dunn, then Donald Ross, then Alister MacKenzie, then the Robert Trent Jones organization. The clubhouse is a former Gould family residence, moved to its present site in 1966. All of that is on the club’s own history page. What is not on the club’s site is a single word about weddings. The top level navigation carries an Outside Events section, and weddings sit inside it, which tells you how the club files them. The weddings page itself is photographs and nothing else. There is no public wedding inquiry form; the only inquiry page on the site is for membership and routes you to the General Manager. No capacity, no price, no vendor rule, no end time. The Knot’s Ardsley country club results do not include this club, so there is no marketplace starting price either. Call (914) 591-8150 before you plan anything around it.
This is one of the emptiest tables in our Westchester file, and the emptiness is the finding. A club that has been open since 1895 publishes a history page, a photograph gallery and no terms at all. The single capacity figure is Cvent’s. Before you spend a Saturday on a tour, get the club to say in writing whether a non member may host a wedding. Then ask what the room seats, and what a date in your month costs with service charge and tax included.
On ardsleycc.org we read the homepage, the guests page, both weddings URLs, the outings page, the golf outing inquiry page, the club history page and the general inquiry page. Off site we read the Cvent venue profile, a Carats and Cake venue page, a country club directory entry and The Knot’s Ardsley results. All read 11 September 2026. Checked September 2026. First party means the business’s own site or rate card. Marketplace means The Knot, WeddingWire, Zola, Wedding Spot or similar. Nothing here is averaged or estimated.
The club files weddings under Outside Events but has never put a booking policy into words. Treat the Outside Events heading as the only evidence either way, and settle it on the first call, before a tour.
The club’s Golf Outing Inquiry page says Ardsley welcomes golf outings, primarily on Mondays and Tuesdays during golf season, and offers outing packages priced at several levels. That is the club speaking plainly about outside business. It is also about golf, not weddings.
Weddings get the same navigation heading and none of the same words. We read the homepage, the guests page, both weddings URLs, the outings page, the golf outing inquiry page, the club history page and the general inquiry page. Not one of them states whether a couple with no connection to the club can hold a wedding here. We record this club as accepting non member events, because the club itself files weddings under Outside Events and sells outing packages to outside groups. That classification rests on the navigation heading and nothing else, which is why every sentence on this page still sends you to the telephone.
Willie Dunn laid out the original course in 1895. Donald Ross redesigned it. Alister MacKenzie redesigned it again. The Robert Trent Jones organization altered it later still. Ardsley hosted the third USGA Women’s Amateur in 1898.
The old Casino clubhouse came down in 1936. In 1966 the club moved into the former home of Justine Bayard Cutting Ward, later owned by Frank Jay Gould. Cvent records the property as established 1895 and renovated in 2023.
The 2023 renovation is the detail worth chasing, because a recently renovated clubhouse is usually one a club wants to show off. What was renovated, and whether it touched the rooms an outside event would use, is not stated on Cvent or anywhere on the club’s own site.
Cvent’s venue profile lists 250 standing and 200 seated, across three meeting rooms, 4,000 square feet of indoor space and 3,500 square feet outdoors. The club publishes none of it. If you are planning for 220 guests, a marketplace profile is the only thing between you and a phone call, which is a thin place to stand.
No per person rate, no site fee, no food and beverage minimum and no service charge percentage appears on the club’s site or on Cvent. The Knot does not carry the club at all in its Ardsley country club results, so there is not even a marketplace starting figure to argue with.
A third party club directory describes a sponsored application process and a membership waiting list, and attaches dollar figures it labels as estimates. We have not recorded those figures and you should not budget from them. What membership costs is a separate question from whether you can rent a room on a Saturday.
The scraped dataset behind this listing gives 100 North Mountain Drive. The club’s own site and Cvent both give 198 North Mountain Drive, Dobbs Ferry. The club’s footer also prints an Ardsley-On-Hudson address with a different ZIP code. Use 198 North Mountain Drive when you set a route for a tour.
Can a non member host a wedding here, and if so must a member sponsor it. What is the seated capacity of the room you would actually use, in the club’s own words. What does a Saturday in your month cost, all in, with service charge and tax.
Ask the first one first. If the answer is that a member must sponsor the event, nothing else on this page matters unless you know a member.
Westchester’s older private clubs run on member dues and member events. Outside business, where it exists at all, is incremental and gets handled by a general manager on the telephone rather than by a marketing page. Publishing a rate card invites comparison shopping that a club with a waiting list has no reason to invite.
That is context rather than an excuse. It explains how a club founded in 1895 can publish a detailed account of its golf architects and nothing at all about what a Saturday costs. It also explains why the only route to an answer here is a phone call, and why the answer may depend on who is asking.
