Dramatic Hall is an 1838 building at 900 Main Street in Peekskill with a stage, a balcony bar and a dressing room, operating inside Peekskill Central Market. The stage is the reason to care. A band or a ceremony can use a real one instead of a corner of the dance floor. The Knot puts the reception fee at $4,250 and the ceremony at $1,000, with bar service at $35 per person and catering listed as contact for price. Tagvenue publishes a hire fee from $5,000 for the same room. Nobody has reconciled those two figures, ourselves included, and the venue publishes no rental figure of its own. Capacity is worse. The Knot says 101 to 150 guests. Tagvenue says up to 300, or 175 standing. The venue’s own page says nothing at all. A spread that wide is not a rounding difference, it is two listings describing different rooms, and it is the first thing to settle on a call. Even the founding year splits: 1838 by the venue’s account, 1837 by Tagvenue’s.

Read this table as two marketplaces guessing at a venue that publishes nothing. The rental figure differs by $750 between them, the capacity differs by a factor of two, and the catering rate that would drive your actual budget is missing altogether. Before you tour, get the site manager to state the seated capacity with a dance floor in place. Then get the rental fee for your date and the catering rate per head. Ask separately whether outside alcohol is allowed. Those four answers make this venue comparable to anything else on your list.

The venue’s own Dramatic Hall page at peekskillcentralmarket.com, the Tagvenue Dramatic Hall listing, and The Knot’s Dramatic Hall marketplace page. All read 11 September 2026. Checked September 2026. First party means the business’s own site or rate card. Marketplace means The Knot, WeddingWire, Zola, Wedding Spot or similar. Nothing here is averaged or estimated.

Capacity is published as 101 to 150 in one place and up to 300 in another. Settle it before you build a guest list around this room.

The hire fee is published twice and the two numbers do not match

The Knot breaks the venue out as reception $4,250, ceremony $1,000, bar services $35 per person, catering contact for price, with a starting price of $10,000 and an average spend of $25,000. Tagvenue lists the hall at from $5,000 hire fee. Both are marketplace figures. The venue’s own page carries no price.

We print both because averaging them would invent a number neither source published. The gap is $750 on the face of it, but the two listings may be describing different inclusions, different hours or different days of the week.

Capacity is published three ways, and one of them is silence

The Knot’s band of 101 to 150 and Tagvenue’s up to 300 cannot both describe the same seated wedding. Tagvenue’s 175 standing figure sits oddly against its own 300. The venue’s page publishes no capacity, so there is no first party number to break the tie.

If you are planning for 160 guests, this is the question that decides whether you tour the building. Ask for a seated dinner capacity with a dance floor in place, and ask whether the balcony counts toward it.

In house catering and bring your own alcohol cannot both be simple

The Knot describes in house catering and a bar run by the venue’s own team at $35 per person. Tagvenue says guests may bring their own alcohol. Those two statements sit awkwardly together and we have not reconciled them.

There is no published approved vendor list and no outside vendor fee. If bringing your own bar is part of why you are interested, get it confirmed by the site manager before anything else.

A stage and a balcony bar are what the room actually offers

The main reception hall has a stage, a balcony bar area and a dressing room, inside a three story building of about 15,200 square feet on The Knot’s listing. A stage changes how a band or a ceremony sits in the room, and it is rare in this price range.

The building is also a working arts venue. Peekskill Central Market runs plays and live music in the same hall, which is worth knowing when you ask about setup access and what else is scheduled in your week.

Ask specifically how many hours before the ceremony you can get into the room, and whether a performance the night before affects that. A stage is an asset until there is a set standing on it that nobody will strike.

The $35 per person is bar service only

It is not a reception rate and it does not include food. Catering is listed as contact for price, so there is no per head catering figure anywhere, first party or marketplace. The Knot also warns that its starting prices exclude service fees, taxes, gratuity and rental fees, and no service charge percentage is published by anyone.

So the honest shape of a budget here is five lines. A rental figure that is either $4,250 or $5,000. A ceremony fee of $1,000. A bar at $35 a head. Then a catering number nobody will print, and an unknown percentage on top of all of it.

The venue’s own page prints a ZIP code that does not exist

The page gives 10655 for Peekskill. Peekskill is 10566, which is what Tagvenue and the underlying dataset both use. It is a typo rather than a scandal, but on a page where every figure conflicts with another figure, it is a reasonable prompt to verify things yourself.

The Knot also publishes a $10,000 start and a $25,000 average

Those two figures sit above the itemised ones on the same listing. A starting price of $10,000 against a reception fee of $4,250 implies the rest is catering and bar, which is consistent with a venue that runs its own kitchen. The $25,000 average spend is a platform figure derived from reported weddings rather than a rate the venue quotes.

Neither is confirmed by the venue, and The Knot itself warns that its starting prices exclude service fees, taxes, gratuity and rental fees. Read them as a rough band for what couples have reportedly spent here, then ask the site manager for the arithmetic at your own guest count. A venue that publishes nothing first party earns that scrutiny.
