Member sponsored club on Long Island Sound. Main Dining Room takes 200, season runs March to December.
Larchmont Shore Club hosts member sponsored private events, which means a couple cannot simply call and book a date here. The club says so across its own pages. The private events page uses the phrase member sponsored private events. The banquets page is headed Private Member Events. The guest information page says guests are welcome when accompanied by a member or when attending a private event. If you have a member in your family or among your friends, keep reading. If you do not, this is a club to admire from the seawall. The rooms are small and all of them face the water. The Main Dining Room takes up to 200 and has a dance floor built into it. The Grille Room takes 50. The Garden Room takes 36. Events run March to December only, and the club is taking inquiries for dates from 2026 through 2028. The address is 1 Oak Bluff Avenue and the Clubhouse Manager answers on 914-834-1516.
Nothing about cost is published, which is normal at a club that only takes member sponsored events. The numbers that do exist are room capacities, and they are small: 200, 50 and 36. Before any of that matters, settle sponsorship. Find out whether a member must host or merely sponsor, who signs the contract, who is liable for the balance, and whether a date can be held while you sort it out. Then ask for a per person rate and a service charge in writing.
The club’s own home page, private events page, banquets and catering page and guest information page at larchmontshoreclub.org, all read on 11 September 2026. We also checked The Knot, WeddingWire, Zola and Wedding Spot and found no starting price for the club. Checked September 2026. First party means the business’s own site or rate card. Marketplace means The Knot, WeddingWire, Zola, Wedding Spot or similar. Nothing here is averaged or estimated.
Member sponsored. Without a member to host or sponsor, you cannot book this club, and the season closes from January through February.
We checked four pages on the club’s own site: the home page, private events, banquets and catering, and guest information. Every one of them frames events as belonging to members. The banquets page headline names Private Member Events. The guest policy admits non members when accompanied by a member, when playing competitive athletics, or when attending a private event. Put together, the picture is consistent. A member hosts or sponsors; the public attends as guests.
We found no listing on The Knot, WeddingWire, Zola or Wedding Spot carrying a starting price for the club. One third party wedding directory does list it. A directory listing is not a booking policy, and we did not treat it as one.
The Main Dining Room holds up to 200 people, looks out over the lawn, pool and Long Island Sound, and has a permanent dance floor rather than a rented one. That last detail is worth more than it sounds. A built in floor removes a rental line and a setup window from your timeline.
The Grille Room takes up to 50 and is wood panelled with Sound views. The Garden Room takes up to 36 behind large glass windows, again facing the water. These are the club’s own published capacities. No separate ceremony or cocktail number is published for any of them.
The athletic side of the club can be opened up for an event on what the club describes as a very limited basis. That covers five tennis courts, the beach, the pool and a bowling alley rebuilt in 2024. Do not build a plan around any of it without a written yes.
The private events page gives availability as March through December for 2026, and the club accepts inquiries as far out as 2028. January and February are not on offer. For a shore club that is unremarkable, and for a couple set on a winter wedding it is decisive.
There is no per person rate, no room fee, no food and beverage minimum and no service charge anywhere on the club’s site. Catering is in house with customised menus, and there is no published rule about outside caterers, because the question does not arise in the way it does at a rental venue.
That is normal for a private club. Rates go to the member who is hosting, and they are quoted rather than published. It also means that if a member is sponsoring your wedding, the money conversation runs through them, which is its own kind of complication. Agree early who signs and who pays.
It is worth being clear about scale, because the club’s setting invites people to imagine something larger than it is. Two hundred is the ceiling in the biggest room. A 260 person guest list does not fit here in any configuration the club publishes.
The two smaller rooms are the interesting part of the inventory. A Grille Room at 50 and a Garden Room at 36 are the right size for a rehearsal dinner, a welcome drinks party or a small ceremony ahead of a larger dinner next door. If a member is sponsoring you, ask whether more than one room can be held on the same day and what that changes about the cost.
Ask whether a member must simply sponsor the event or must actually host it, because those are different obligations and clubs differ on which they mean. Ask what the sponsoring member is liable for if a balance goes unpaid, and ask who signs the contract. Ask whether the Main Dining Room can be held on a date while you sort sponsorship out.
Then the ordinary ones, none of which have published answers here. What is the per person rate, what is the service charge, is there a food and beverage minimum, what time does music stop, and does the club run more than one event at a time. Ask what a March date costs against a September one, since the season only runs March to December and the shoulder months are the cheap ones almost everywhere.
The beach, the pool, the five tennis courts and the rebuilt bowling alley are a large part of why couples look here. If you want any of them in your day, get the specific spaces and hours written into the contract. The club describes that access as very limited, and a verbal yes on a tour is not a booking.
