Metropolis Country Club runs private events and staffs a manager for them. It does not say if an outside couple is allowed to be one of those events. That gap is what this page has to be honest about. The club’s lifestyle page describes spaces for members to relax, connect and host private events, and promises a team that will help with the menu, the flowers, the decor, the music and the entertainment. Every sentence around it is written for members. There is no public event inquiry form on the site; the only form on the home page is a membership inquiry. We read the home page, the lifestyle page, the our story page and the guest information page on 11 September 2026. None of them states that an outside couple may book, and none states that they may not. So the policy is recorded as not published, and it leans member facing. What the club does publish is serious golf history: a 1904 Herbert Strong course with 1920s A.W. Tillinghast work, restored in 2013 by Ron Forse, and a clubhouse just renovated with a grand reopening scheduled for spring 2026. Call the club and settle eligibility before you plan around any of it.

There is no figure here to plan with. Not one rate, minimum, capacity or room name is published by the club or by any marketplace we read. Before you spend a call on money, spend it on permission: ask whether an outside couple may book, and what a sponsoring member has to do. If you are looking at spring or summer 2026, ask separately whether the renovated rooms will be in service on your date.

The club’s home page, lifestyle page, our story page and guest information page, plus a Knot real wedding album and a Cvent listing, all read on 11 September 2026. Checked September 2026. First party means the business’s own site or rate card. Marketplace means The Knot, WeddingWire, Zola, Wedding Spot or similar. Nothing here is averaged or estimated.

Every event reference on the club’s own site is written for members and there is no public event inquiry form, so do not assume you can book. The clubhouse reopening is scheduled for spring 2026.

There is a private events manager, and no way in from the outside

The club staffs a Private Events and Outings Manager, Kathy Trepp. Events plainly happen here and somebody is paid to run them. What the site never establishes is who is allowed to ask. The lifestyle page frames its rooms as spaces for members, the guest information page covers arrival, dress code, pool rules and phone use, and nothing anywhere addresses sponsorship of an outside event.

We note two other things and give neither any weight as evidence of policy. The Knot hosts a real wedding album from Metropolis. Cvent carries a venue listing. Our rules are explicit that a marketplace listing never establishes whether a club takes outside bookings, and we are following them here.

The course is the real history: 1904, Tillinghast, and a 2013 restoration

The club’s home page dates the golf course to 1904 and credits Herbert Strong with the original design, with significant work by A.W. Tillinghast in the 1920s and a comprehensive restoration completed by Ron Forse in 2013. In a county thick with important golf architecture, that is a notable lineage.

The club itself formed in 1922, when members broke away from the Metropolis Club, a social club in New York City, and bought the property that Century Country Club was leaving. The original clubhouse had been a private residence. It was destroyed by fire in 1969 and rebuilt.

The clubhouse is new again, which cuts both ways for a 2026 date

The club’s own story page says the clubhouse has just come through a complete renovation, with a grand reopening scheduled for spring 2026. For a couple that means the rooms are effectively new. It also means nobody has photographs of a wedding in them yet, so you will be judging a room from a rendering or a walkthrough.

If you are looking at a 2026 date, confirm the event rooms are actually in service for it. Renovation schedules move. Ask what the fallback is if the reopening slips, and ask before a deposit rather than after.

No capacity, no rate, no minimum, no anything

The club publishes no room names, no seated or cocktail capacity, no ceremony capacity, no per person rate, no site fee, no food and beverage minimum, no service charge and no vendor policy. No end time, no exclusivity statement, no rain plan. No marketplace carries a per person figure for it either.

The one inference the site invites is that food and much else is handled in house, since the club describes its own team managing the menu, the flowers, the decor, the music and the entertainment. It does not publish that as a rule, so treat it as a signal and ask for the rule.

What an outside couple should actually ask

Start with eligibility. Ask whether a non member can host a wedding here at all, and if a member must sponsor it, ask what the club requires of that member and whether the club will introduce you to one. Clubs vary enormously on this, and the difference decides whether Metropolis is a venue for you or a photograph you liked.

If you get a yes, everything else is still unpublished. Ask for all of it in writing on the same call. The room, the seated capacity with a dance floor, the per person rate by day and by season. The minimum, the service charge, the tax treatment, the end time, the vendor rules.

Where it sits, and what we verified

The address is 289 Dobbs Ferry Road, White Plains, which is Westchester County. The site loaded on 11 September 2026, the club is operating, and the renovation and reopening language is current on its own pages. Those are the confirmed facts.

Everything else about a wedding at Metropolis lives behind a phone call we cannot make for you.
