Siwanoy runs member sponsored events, so a couple with no connection to the club cannot book it. The Private Events page describes member sponsored events and member parties, and the Membership page states that membership is by invitation only and that only members may put forward a candidate. There is no public inquiry form. Enquiries go to Theresa McCarthy on 914-337-3840. That closes the question before the history can open it, which is a shame, because the history is unusual. The club was established in 1901. Its Donald Ross course was laid out in 1915, and it hosted the first PGA Championship in the autumn of 1916. Beyond that, Siwanoy publishes almost nothing. No room names. No capacities. No prices, no minimum, no service charge, no vendor policy. We found no listing for the club on The Knot, WeddingWire, Zola or Wedding Spot, which is what you would expect from a club that does not sell events to the public.

There are no numbers here because there is no public sale. Siwanoy publishes neither a rate nor a minimum, names neither a fee nor a capacity, and no marketplace carries a starting price for it. That silence is consistent with the policy rather than an oversight. If a member is sponsoring your wedding, the member is also your route to a price, and the questions above are the ones to hand them before they call the club on your behalf.

The club’s private events page, membership page and guest information page on siwanoycc.com, all read on 11 September 2026. We also checked for listings on The Knot, WeddingWire, Zola and Wedding Spot and found none. Checked September 2026. First party means the business’s own site or rate card. Marketplace means The Knot, WeddingWire, Zola, Wedding Spot or similar. Nothing here is averaged or estimated.

A member must sponsor or host the event, and membership is by invitation only. Nothing about this club is bookable by a couple approaching it cold.

The invitation only line is the one that ends most searches here

Two sentences on the club’s own site settle it. The Private Events page frames the offering around member sponsored events such as corporate outings, business meetings, reunions and fund raisers, alongside member parties for personal occasions. The Membership page states that membership is by invitation only, and that only members may sponsor a prospective candidate.

Put together, that means a wedding here needs a member to sponsor or host it, and joining happens by invitation rather than by application. There is no public event inquiry form to fill in, and the only contact given is a named person and a phone number. If you have a member in your family or among your friends, this page is worth reading on. If you do not, spend your afternoon somewhere else.

The first PGA Championship was played on this course in 1916

Siwanoy was established in 1901. The Donald Ross course was established in 1915, and in the autumn of 1916 it hosted the inaugural PGA Championship. Those three facts come from the club’s own membership page and they are the only history it publishes. No architect for the clubhouse is named, and no renovation history appears anywhere.

For a golf property that is close to the top of the American list. It also explains the club’s posture. A course with that record does not need to market its ballroom, and Siwanoy behaves accordingly: no photography of event spaces with capacities attached, no packages, no seasonal calendar, no marketing language about weddings at all.

The club publishes no rooms, no capacities and no prices

The only description of event space anywhere on the site is a reference to private dining rooms for special occasions and club events. No room is named. No room is sized. Not one capacity is published for a seated dinner, for cocktails or for a ceremony, indoors or out.

The money side is just as blank. The Private Events page carries no rate and no minimum, says nothing about caterers or outside vendors, and names no hour at which the music has to stop. Not one figure is attached to events at Siwanoy, first party or marketplace. A number borrowed from a comparable Bronxville club would be a guess wearing this club’s name, so there is none on this page.

What member sponsored means in practice, and why it is worth settling early

Sponsorship is not a formality and it is not a favour you can call in late. At a club structured this way, the event is usually booked in the member’s name, charged to the member’s account, and governed by the club’s rules on guests. That makes your sponsor a party to the contract as well as a guest at the wedding.

Siwanoy publishes none of the detail, so the questions belong to your sponsor rather than to us. Does the member have to attend. Does the member settle the bill and get reimbursed, or can the club invoice you directly. Is there a limit on how many non member guests may be on the property at once. What happens if the member resigns, moves away or dies between the booking and the date. Those are awkward things to raise with a family friend, and they are much more awkward eleven months later.

If a member does sponsor you, here is what nobody has printed

Start with the shape of the sponsorship. Does the member simply introduce you, or must the event be booked in the member’s name, and does that make them liable for the bill. Get that in writing, because it is a friendship as well as a contract. The clubs that work this way rarely bend the rule, and a sponsor who is unsure of the answer is usually a sponsor who has not asked the club yet.

Then the practical blanks. Which room, and how many people fit in it with a dance floor. Whether there is any outdoor ceremony option and what happens if it rains. What the minimum is and how it moves by season and day. What the service charge is and whether tax applies to it. What time the music has to stop. Whether member dining continues in the building while your reception runs. Every one of those is unanswered in public, so every one of them belongs on the call.

The listing says clubhouse, and there is no separate clubhouse business

Our source data carried this venue as Siwanoy Clubhouse. There is no publicly bookable business under that name. The entry refers to Siwanoy Country Club at 351 Pondfield Road in Bronxville, and the club’s policy is the club’s policy whichever name you search. If a vendor or a planner offers you the clubhouse as though it were a separate hire, ask them to name the member sponsoring it.

It is worth saying plainly what this page is for. Most couples who reach it will have found the club through a photograph or a mention of the 1916 championship, and the useful thing we can do is save them an afternoon. Siwanoy is a serious golf club that runs private events for the people who belong to it. If that includes someone you know, the questions above are your starting point. If it does not, there is no route in, and no amount of persistence on a contact form will create one.
