Sunningdale Country Club puts a public event inquiry form on its website, lists weddings and rehearsal dinners at the top of it, and never once says whether a non member is allowed to use it. That contradiction is the story of this page. The club describes itself as a private club since 1913, calls itself a home away from home for its members, and frames its dining rooms as being for members and their guests. Then it publishes a Host an Event page open to anyone, asking for your name, your event type, your estimated guest count and your date. We read the home, about, Host an Event, guest information and lifestyle pages on 11 September 2026, and found no sentence resolving it. That is why we record the member policy as not published, and why we are telling you to ask before you visit. The club is at 300 Underhill Road in Scarsdale and the number is 914-723-3200. Nothing else about an event here is published at all: no rooms, no capacities, no prices, no vendor rules.

Nothing here can be budgeted. The club publishes neither a rate nor a minimum, names neither a capacity nor a room, and no marketplace carries a starting price for it. The one call that matters is about eligibility before money: ask whether a non member may host a wedding, and what a sponsoring member would have to do. If that answer is yes, ask for the rate sheet and the service charge in the same conversation, because none of it exists in public.

The club’s home, about, Host an Event, guest information and lifestyle pages, its dead special events URL, plus searches of The Knot, WeddingWire, Zola and Wedding Spot, all on 11 September 2026. Checked September 2026. First party means the business’s own site or rate card. Marketplace means The Knot, WeddingWire, Zola, Wedding Spot or similar. Nothing here is averaged or estimated.

The member policy is unresolved. An open wedding inquiry form sits beside language describing a private club for members and their guests, and the club never states whether an outside couple may host.

The form says weddings. The rest of the site says members.

The Host an Event page lists the categories the club will take: weddings and rehearsal dinners, mitzvahs, anniversary celebrations, bridal or baby showers, charity events, family reunions, corporate meetings and outings, and birthday, holiday and children’s parties. The form asks for contact details, event type, an estimated guest count, a desired date and comments. It states no membership requirement.

Elsewhere the same site describes a private club and a home away from home for its members, and presents its dining venues as being for members and their guests. Neither statement cancels the other. An open form is not a policy, and a private club description is not a refusal. So we record the policy as not published and leave it there.

A tented wedding has happened here, which is a different thing from being bookable

PartySlate documents a wedding on the property under a tent. It publishes no numbers alongside it: not a price, not a capacity, not a word about who hosted or how. We include it because it establishes that weddings physically happen at Sunningdale. It establishes nothing about whether a couple with no connection to the club can have one.

Marketplace presence would not settle it either. No starting price was found on The Knot, WeddingWire, Zola or Wedding Spot, and a listing on any of them is never evidence of policy.

Zero numbers, on purpose or otherwise

The club names no event rooms. It publishes no seated or cocktail capacity, no ceremony capacity, no per person rate, no site fee, no minimum, no service charge, no vendor rules, no end time and no rain plan. The only quantity anywhere in the process is the guest count the form asks you for.

For planning purposes that is a wall. You cannot compare Sunningdale against anything, because there is nothing to compare. The first call has to do all the work.

The old events URL is dead, so use the right page

The legacy address at sunningdale.org for special events returned a 404 when we checked it on 11 September 2026. The live page is the Host an Event form in the inquiries section. If you are working from an old bookmark or a third party listing, you are probably pointed at the dead one.

The rest of the site is current. The forms are live and the club is plainly operating.

Since 1913, and that is all the history they print

The club states it has been a private club since 1913. No course architect, no founding story and no clubhouse history appears on the pages we read, which is unusually spare for a Westchester club of that age. It fits the pattern: Sunningdale’s public site is a door, not a brochure.

Scarsdale places it centrally in the county, which matters for a mixed guest list. Past the address at 300 Underhill Road we have nothing further to report, and we would rather say so than pad.

What a straight answer would sound like

When you call 914-723-3200, do not ask whether the club does weddings. It does. Ask whether a non member may host one, and if the answer involves a member, ask what that member has to do and whether the club will help you find one. At some Westchester clubs sponsorship means a signature. At others it means a decade of friendship.

If the answer is yes, the follow ups are ordinary and you will be starting from a blank page on every one of them: room, capacity, rate, minimum, service charge, vendor rules, hours. Ask for them in writing the same week. A club that publishes nothing can change anything.
